John Andrew,  a dismissed soldier believed to be part of a syndicate that specialises in snatching vehicles with master keys, has confessed that there is no kind of vehicle he cannot open.

Andrew, a confessed serial car snatcher, made the startling revelation during his parade at the headquarters of the Bayelsa State Police Command in Yenagoa.

The suspect was arrested on Saturday by policemen on a stop-and-search operation in Akenfa, a suburb of Yenagoa, the state capital.

FIFA bans Ghanaian footballer, Samuel Inkoom for one year

Ghanaian defender, Samuel Inkoom who currently plays for Bulgarian club FC Vereya, has been banned by FIFA for one year for failing to settle the total outstanding amount owed to his former agent Andy Evans.
Following a contractual dispute between both parties, the 28-year-old was ordered by the Bureau of the Players’ Status Committee on 19 March 2014 to pay an amount owed to Evans.

3 Persons Killed In Bank Robbery

Police said attackers shot and killed three people in a raid on a commercial bank in northeast Kenya’s on Friday.
Police commander Charles Chacha said that the civilians and a police officer died in the attack in Mandera County.

Court stops El-Rufai from sacking 4,766 traditional rulers

A Kaduna State High Court,  ‎in Kafanchan has granted an injunction restraining Governor Nasir El-Rufai and the state from sacking over 4,766 District and Village Heads across the state.

El-Rufai’s government announced that it had reverted to 77 districts and 1,429 village units that existed prior to 2001.
The government sacked all the 313 district heads and 4,453 village heads appointed after year 2001 by administration of former Governor Ahmed Mohammed Makarfi.

The Benue State Command have arrested two young notorious armed robbers, who disguise in military uniforms and rob victims of their valuables. The suspects identified as one Joseph John, 18 and Innocent Ejembi, 20 are responsible for the frequent robbery attacks in Onyagede District, Ohimini LGA of the state.

They were arrested at a robbery scene dressed in Army camouflage uniforms with a dummy gun which they use in carrying out their criminal acts. The suspect will be charged to court.

Court remands Lagos pastor for beheading seven-year-old

A Lagos State Magistrate’s Court sitting at Ebute-Meta has ordered the remand of two men, Adedoyin Oyekanmi, 23; and Erinmole Adetokunbo, 26; for allegedly beheading a seven-year-old boy, Kazeem Rabiu.

 The magistrate, Mrs. O.A. Fowowe-Erusiafe, said the two defendants should be remanded in custody pending the release of legal advice from the Directorate of Public Prosecutions.

Etisalat No Longer Under Investigation, Paid 42% Of Original Loan

Embattled mobile telephone operator, Etisalat Nigeria, on Thursday denied a news report that the company was being investigated by the anti-graft agency, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, following a petition by the consortium of banks requesting the Federal Government to look into how the funds from the syndicated loans were utilized.
In a statement signed by Ibrahim Dikko VP, Regulatory & Corporate Affairs, Etisalat Nigeria and made available to P.M.EXPRESS stated that the telco has consistently and conscientiously met up with its payment obligations with about 42 per cent (about $504 million) of the original loan package of $1.2 billion (about N377.4 billion) from a consortium of Nigerian banks, which is at the core of the current crisis it is facing, has since been repaid.

Governor Nyesom Wike sacks one of his commissioners

Rivers state governor, Nyesom Wike, this morning sacked the commissioner for Works in the state, Bathuel Harrison (pictured in jacket).

In a statement released by his Special Assistant on Electronic Media, Simeon Nwakaudu, Wike said the sack is with immediate effect. He ordered Harrison to hand over to the permanent secretary in the ministry. No reason was given for the termination of the commissioner's appointment.

Vice Principle Who Allegedly Raped Student Gets N1m Bail

Mohammed Mohammed, a school Vice Principal accused of impregnating his 16-year-old student, was on Tuesday granted N1 million bail by a Minna Magistrate’s Court.

Magistrate Fatima Auna, who ruled on Mr. Mohammed’s bail application, said the bail was in line with Sections 35 and 36 of the 1999 constitution, and Sections 341 and 342 of the Criminal Procedure Code.

Man Strips, Chains 13-Year Old For Stealing N200

The Ogun State Police Command has arrested a 41-year-old man Adeoye Oreyomi, for allegedly chaining his 13-year-old son, Demola, hands and feet over N2,000 theft.

The suspect who lived on Dokun Street, Ewuga in Sagamu, Ogun State, according to police reports, was said to have stripped the boy naked before using a chain to tie him on both hands and legs and padlocked the chain at both ends.
According to Punch, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, said the people in Oreyomi’s neighbourhood who feared that the Demola might give up the ghost quickly alerted police at Sagamu Divisional Headquarters of the victim’s plight.
