The EFCC has returned the sum of N36, 186,12.00( Thirty Six Million, One Hundred and Eighty-Six Thousand, Twelve Naira) to Mrs Ifeoma Chukwuogo, Proprietress of Jephtah International School, East-West Road, Port Harcourt, Rivers State being money recovered from three suspected fraudsters who allegedly diverted the school's money for their private uses.

'We’re not a militant terrorist organization' - IPOB says

The Indigenous People of Biafra IPOB, has denied claims by the Defence Headquarters that it is a militant terrorist organization. The Defence Headquarters released a statement yesterday declaring the group as a militant terrorist organization.
However, in a statement released yesterday by the Media and Publicity Secretary of IPOB, Emma Powerful, the secessionist group denied the claims and alleged that security operatives, especially the “Nigerian Army and police personnel drafted to Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s house has planted bombs in and around Nnamdi Kanu’s house in Isiama Afaraukwu Ibeku Umuahia Abia State” in a bid to paint the image of IPOB in bad light. The statement in part reads

Nigerian military declares IPOB a terrorist organisation

The Nigerian military has declared the pro-Biafra separatist group, IPOB, a “terrorist organisation.” The military made the declaration in a statement on Friday by the Director of Defence Information, John Enenche.

Clashes between soldiers on a military operation and IPOB members in Abia State have left several people wounded. Although there have been reports of deaths particularly of IPOB members, none has been confirmed.

The doting dad had been shopping with his eight-year-old daughter when he sent her into Poundland to buy sweets, the Metropolitan Police said.

Following viral clams on social media that Gov. Okezie Ikpeazu has told the Nigerian army to withdraw troops from Abia State, the Nigerian army in a statement released yesterday and signed by Brigadier General Sani Kukasheka Usman, Director Army Public Relations, debunked the report.
The statement further disclosed that what Abia state governor, Okezie Ikpeazu, said while addressing newsmen in the state, was that there would be gradual withdrawal and not the total withdrawal of troops.

How detectives tracked killer of Catholic priest to Lagos hideout By Laila Ijeoma.

Detectives attached to the Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad (FSARS), Lagos Command, have arrested the killer of Reverend Father Cyriacus Onunkwo, a Catholic priest serving in Imo State.

The suspect, identified as Raphael Ndukwe, was tracked down to his hideout in the Ajangbadi area of Ojo, based on a tip-off.
Fr. Onunkwo was kidnapped in Imo State by gunmen on Friday, September 1, 2017 from his car and taken to Omumma, where his body was found the next day.

The students were released by their abductors on July 23.
The students – Judah Agbaosi, Faruq Yusuf, Isoaka Ramon and Peter Jonah – were in high spirits when a team of the Lagos State Ministry of Education led by the permanent Secretary Mr. Adesina Odeyemi, visited the school on Tuesday.

Director in Lagos State civil service commits suicide

A director in the Lagos State Ministry of Youths, Mr. Oludare Buraimoh, has allegedly committed suicide by hanging in his room.
Buraimoh, who lived at Unity Estate, Phase II, Gbonagun, Abeokuta in Ogun State, took his life at about 4.00p.m. on Monday after attending to his son, Dotun, who was reportedly ill.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that many sympathisers, who spoke in silent tones about the incident, were seen in the compound.
