Deputy Majority Leader of the House of Representatives Buba Jibril says the house will pass the 2010 Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) Regulation and Co-ordination Bill to forestall illegal activities of some of the organisations.
Jibril (Kogi-APC) who said this in a statement he issued to newsmen in Abuja on Friday explained that religious organisations and quasi financial institutions were not affected by the bill because they were not NGOs.

A notorious cultist and ex-convict, Ibrahim Oriyomi Balogun (AKA Small Jpron), whom the police have accused of carrying out multiple murders around Somolu and Bariga areas of Lagos, has been –re-arraigned on charges of murder barely a year after he was arrested, charged to court and released.
Thirty-six-year-old Balogun has been arrested at least three times in the past – in November 2012, August 2016 and March 2017 – on allegations of murder and cult-related activities.
He was arraigned in 2016 for murder, possession of firearms and for belonging to a cult, PUNCH learnt.

Nigerian police averted what would have been a tragic incident after a suspected female kidnapper was nearly burnt to death in Alagbado, Lagos.
According to reports, she was caught with a schoolboy, probably keeping him hostage for an alleged negative intent, and the angry mob descended on her, put a tyre on her and only needed a matchstick to leave someone burning when the police intervened.

FG to reveal account details of IPOB sponsors

The Federal Government will be giving the French Government account details of the sponsors of terrorist group, Indigenous People of Biafra, Saturday PUNCH has learnt.
The Nigerian Government had through the Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, said that France was the headquarters of IPOB’s funding. But the European country on Thursday said it had no knowledge of IPOB’s presence in France.

Kazeem Owolabi Emiabata, deliberately infected his legally married wife, Titilayo with HIV and threw her out of their matrimonial home after she discovered his anti-retroviral drugs and medical records, which showed that he had been on treatment for a long period without disclosing his status to her.

A Guinean thief who didn’t imagine he’d be caught soon has congratulated the police for arresting him. He felicitated the police while being interviewed after he was caught. In a video that is going viral on social media, Boubacar Diallo, a student at a technical college in Mamou, Guinea, said he knew the gravity of his crime and acknowledged that he could be jailed. Diallo and his accomplice freely admitted to stealing 50million Guinean francs (N2million) from a phone shop in the north-western city. The Commissioner of Police in Lagos state, Edgal Imohimi, on Tuesday September 19th, rescued the couple pictured above from a ritualist shrine in Ikorodu in Lagos state.
The couple had reportedly gone to the town for spiritual help but on getting to the shrine, they met with the owner, Adedeji James, who planned to use them for ritual purposes.

Father killed as police foil attempted kidnap of his two daughters in Kaduna

 
Kaduna State Police Command on Tuesday foiled a kidnap attempt of a family in Sabon Gari area.
The command's spokesperson, ASP Aliyu Mukhtar, who confirmed the incident said the kidnappers stormed the residence of the former chairman of the vigilante group in Shika, Sabon Gari Local Government Area of Kaduna State, Alhaji Mustapha Ghali with plans to abduct it occupants.

Suspected cult members have shot Mr. Stanley Mbanefo, a final year student of the Department of Geography, University of Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
The incident was said to have taken place at the university community of Idak Okpo, Uyo, around 10.47pm on Monday.
Punch learnt that the hoodlums, about five in number, invaded the community and shot the victim at a close range while he was trying to escape from a shop.

The Indigenous People of Biafra IPOB separatist crisis being spearheaded by Nnamdi Kanu  is bigger than the activities of the deadly terrorist group Boko Haram, Borno State Governor Kashim Shettima has said.
No fewer than 20, 000 people are believed to have been killed by Boko Haram since the Islamist sect started its attacks in Borno, Yobe and Adamawa states, especially and partly in Abuja and some other parts of the country about eight years ago.
Thousands of others have been maimed by the sect that was also responsible for the infamous abduction of 276 Chibok schoolgirls in April, 2014. More than 100 of the girls are still in the sect’s custody.

A businessman, Moses Ojiekomhan, yesterday told an Ebute-Meta Chief Magistrates’ Court, that he caught his wife, Joy, in bed with his driver Emeka Osuh, at their Lagos home.
Ojiekomhan, the Managing Director of Legend Logistics and Integrated Concept Limited, Ikeja, stated this during Joy’s arraignment on a two count-charge of conspiracy and stealing.

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has announced a conditional suspension of its nationwide strike which started August 13th, five weeks ago.

The union directed university lecturers to resume duty from today, Tuesday.
The suspension of the strike was announced on Monday evening after a meeting with the government delegation.

Seven suspected members of the Indigenous People of Biafra were remanded in Aba prison for alleged murder and arson by a Magistrates’ Court sitting in Aba, Abia State.

The suspects are Chinonso Ude, Maduabuchi Echereodo, Ukochukwu Ikechukwu, Okechukwu Daniel, Okezie Jeremiah , Chizuruoke Nwanmuo and Ifeanyi Sunday.

Gay man accused of killing his apprentice for dating woman in Abuja


An artisan, Samarola Musa, has allegedly beaten his apprentice, Ademola Adeshina, to death for his refusal to stop dating a lady in the Lugbe area of Abuja.

Musa, who is facing a homicide charge at a Federal Capital Territory High Court, Gwagwalada, Abuja, is believed to have had a homosexual relationship with the 24-year-old man.
It was learnt that an autopsy indicated that Ademola died as a result of the beating he received from Musa.

Jealous wife in police net for throwing her step daughters into well in Nasarawa

A 20-year-old house wife, Aisha Isah is presently in police net in Nasarawa State for allegedly throwing her two step daughters into a well.
The Police Public Relations Officer of Nasarawa State command, DSP Kennedy Idirisu said the step daughters, Zainab, 4, and Baaba, 2 were said to have been allegedly thrown into the well following a disagreement with the children’s mother.
Idirisu said the suspect was arrested in Yelwan-Bassa village in Kokona Local Government Area following a report of the incident, DailyPost.

Sophia Momodu, Davido’s first baby mama and actress Eniola Badmus over the weekend engaged in serious war of words. The two have been good friends for a while now, so we don’t really know where this is coming from.
Sophia unlike before didn’t make any birthday post for Eniola who turned a year older weeks ago.

It started when Sophia took to Snapchat to ask her followers what she would have for dinner.
Sophia disclosed, that she already has eaten some “Dunkin’ Donuts” and she considered having another fancy doughnut from Krispy Kreme that same night.

Eniola Badmus then posted what seemed like a reply to Sophia, mocking her for going for cheap snacks, she said;

This apparently did not go down well with Sophia Momodu who then replied;
“How you gon be salty cause I eat whatever the Bleep I want and you can’t hoe,” she began her tirade. “I have wayyy too many responsible people in my life. They won’t let me put this fat, salty hoe in her place. Always talking about people and stay kissing their ass. Fool!”
