Photos: 270 shops with goods worth millions of Naira destroyed as fire guts Terminus market in Jos Over 270 shops in the popular Terminus main market in Jos, Plateau state capital, was razed by fire in the early hours of today Saturday July 21st. The state Commissioner of Police, Adie Undie, said the fire started around 1:30am and that the cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained. “This incident happened around 1:30.a.m and our men and that of the Department of Fire Service responded promptly. The nature of the market really hindered the men of the fire service from accessing it with ease, but they did their best. My officers were able to cordon the arena and ensure hoodlums didn’t take undue advantage of the situation to loot.” he said He said police officers will remain at the scene to ensure hoodlums do not take advantage of the situation to loot. A 100 level female student from the University of Lagos has been declared missing
The student identified as Boluwatife Olorunsola has been missing for almost one week with no leads on her whereabouts.
According to statement credited to Unilag's Dean of Student Affairs, 'the Student allegedly missing has been identified as OLORUNSOLA BOLUWATIFE TAMILORE, 100 level student of Employment Relations and Human Resources Management. DSA has spoken to her mother. Her Mother saw her last on Friday last week. She has reported a case of missing person to Sabo Police Station. Anyone with any information should contact the police and the DSA immediately'.
