16-year-old Alero Eyesan passed away this morning. She was stabbed on New Year Eve by a young man simply identified as Osama in Sapele, Delta State.
According to reports online, after the teenager reportedly refused his advances,  Osama laid ambush on her on the night of December 31 and stabbed her on the thigh. Below is the update:

Medical Doctors in Kogi State Begin Strike

The Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) in Kogi on Sunday directed its members to resume strike on Monday over an alleged failure by the state government to meet their demands.
The Chairman of the association, Godwin Tijani, said in Lokoja that the state government has been unable to pay the full salaries of the medical doctors in the state and this is quite unacceptable. And at the same time the state government have been meddling in the funds due to the association as Tijani alleged that union dues as well as members’ cooperative society contributions were not remitted in full whereas 100 per cent taxes were deducted from their salaries.
